At the Leadership seminar-workshop in Villa-Ronar
By Franchesca Lenina L. Demdam, IV- Misericordia and Trisha Thadhani, I- Semplicita’
The MDPS community is now busy preparing for the Philippine Accrediting Association for Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) visit.
According to Mrs. Fe Perez, PAASCU Project Director, the school community is done with the Self-Survey, the results of which were presented in a plenary session composed of Faculty and Student & Parent Representatives last September 14 at the Mother Alessandra Sala Hall.
The Self-Survey is an internal assessment to determine how good MDPS is as a Catholic school. A review of the school’s Instruction, Faculty, Administration, Student Services, Laboratory, Library & Audio-Visual Center, Physical Plant, and School & Community was accomplished, headed by an administrator or student teacher with three to four teachers coming from the Faculty.
The Chairpersons make up the PAASCU Executive Committee together with Mrs. Perez, Directress Sr. Ruby Diva, ASP, Principal Sr. Alma Tirol, ASP, and Project Consultant Dr. Jesus Palma, a former Ateneo Grade School Administrator.
“I am very positive that this move to have MDPS accredited by PAASCU will lead to the further improvement of the kind of service that the school envisions to render to its clientele,” remarked Mrs. Perez.

Welcome to the MDPS Family!: Ms. Gracielle Sagucio

School Graduated:
University of the East
Course:
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education
Why did you choose MDPS?
It’s like a magic….. God chose me as an instrument to
teach young people like the children here in MDPS.
How do you find teaching here in MDPS?
- as a new faculty member of the MDPS, I find it more difficult at first, later on I found it more challenging even though there’s a lot of paper work. The environment is fine and great and enjoying it now.
How do you find MDPSians? - They are fast learners and courteous even though some of them are noisy. They are easy to get along with, they are warm and welcoming new teachers and they are (MDPSians) are critical thinkers.

Editorial: Power of Prayer

By: Rebecca Isabel F. Salinas, 6-Generosita’
Whew! It’s very hot. Land is dry and air is warm.
There was a dry spell in the Philippines.
Lately, the CBCP asked Filipinos to pray for rain. We prayed and prayed. Afterwards, Chedeng, Dodong and Egay came. A lot of rain indeed! This heavy rains and strong winds caused landslides and floods. Because of the rain, classes were suspended and students were re asked to go home.
Nowadays, we’re praying that there will be no typhoons ala ”Milenyo”. For me, the rain is not a disaster but it is a way God to reveal His goodness to His people. It’s up to us now to discover the real power of prayer.
